A Ray of Hope

Today the era of technological advancement has brought the world into our palms .. but the distance between mankind has only increased .. The social media has made it possible to get connected to our laptops .. mobile phones and other gadgets in a moment but the connection between our hearts has been lost forever .. On one hand nations around the world compete amongst themselves to wield the ultimate power to control and rule over the world .. greedy people continue to exploit mother nature's resources and keep adding to their wealth leaving the huge fraternity of mankind deprived .. disrupting nature's ecological balance ; while on the other hand families are continually disintegrating .. relationships have been reduced to the mere 'I' .. murders and suicides are ever-increasing .. despite being within crowds of millions .. man has become the loneliest of all creatures on the planet.

Another world war or big bang again would'nt be necessary .. the internal wars between humans for survival are slowly taking us back to the primitive ages when man evolved from apes .. hunted and killed humans and animals .. and then ? As the world started with nothing .. so also it would end into nothing until and unless we recognize and respect the character traits which differentiate us from the animals we evolved from .. 'Love .. compassion .. respect towards each other's individuality .. living and letting others live ..

The need of the hour is to fight the war not to eliminate others and establish our supremacy but to stop the backward evolution .. if only we wish .. the choice is in our hands ..

THE POEM

Its been long since the apocalypse

I remain scattered on the ground like pieces of dead meteorites ..

Far .. far away from the civilization that once defined my purpose ..

Waiting for the storms to blow me in the direction they pleases ..

It doesn't matter now ..

I don't feel the pain anymore

All my tears having dried ..

With no sun to kindle my heart..

No moon to look up for peace ..

An existence denuded of all human emotions ..

Like death clad in a black veil ..

Loneliness surrounds me now

As I wait for the beckoning to slowly devour me ..

The flame of my lamp shivers ..

Has the hour come then ? I ask myself

When suddenly a ray of light reveals your face

The magic of a pair of big dark eyes .. an innocent smile ..

Brings me back the lost purpose of my life

Help me find the bits of life still beating in me ..

I unsheathe my sword ..turn back to the storms

Ready to recreate the world bit by bit once again

For I know no matter how difficult and tiresome the struggles within a struggle is ..

I always have those pair of eyes to find solace in ..

The smile to inspire selflessness amidst the selfishness of relations

The trust in life .. humanity even at the times of distress

I don't need to reveal you before the world

For you're just like the breaths inhale in seclusion ..

To remind myself that I'm alive every day .. hour .. second
