METAMORPHOSIS: EPISODE ONE

SCENE ONE: SAMEER'S APARTMENT

Sameer returs to his apartment, exhausted after a busy day at work. He opens his refrigerator and takes out a beer bottle. He has just taken the first sip when he receives a text message on his phone.

A cold wave of fear descends down his spines seeing the name of the sender.

The next moment he laughs upon his own stupidity. There are millions of people living in the world with the same name.

TEXT CONVERSATION BETWEEN SAMEER AND NISHA

Nisha: Hello

Sameer: Hello..

Nisha: What are you doing now?

Sameer: Hello.. Who's this?

Nisha: How are you?

Sameer: I'm fine.. Thank You.. Who are you?

Nisha: You've forgotten me so quickly

Sameer: What the f**k..?

Nisha: I knew you'd forget me.. Didn't I use to tell you?

But everytime I said that you looked into my eyes and said we're soulmates and as soul never dies..So also we'll always live for each other.. Didn’t you?

Sameer: Look I think this is getting irksome.. Who is it? Is that you Ravi?

Nisha: Have you taken your lunch?

Sameer: Yep

Nisha: I guess you have to cook for yourself now..? You never liked to eat meals cooked by anyone else other than me.

Nisha: My heart bleeds for you..But I can do nothing now.. Why don't you consider home-made tiffins? They're pretty good that I know of.

Sameer: Look..If that's you Ravi.. Sorry.. You've failed to scare me..

Nisha: Do you still throw away your clothes on the sofa everyday when you return home from office? And your socks? Gosh..How they used to stink!

Sameer: Hmm.. You remembered pretty well my conversations with Nisha I had told you..I suppose the whole office knows of these now?

Sameer: F**k you..F**k everybody..

Nisha: It's me Sameer.. Not your office colleague Ravi. Believe me.

Sameer checks on Nisha's profile for sometime..Checks the old posts and comments

Sameer: I know your password. I deleted your account myself. How come it got active again ?

Sameer: It is that same account. Even the dates of sharing posts from our accounts match. So Ravi has hired a hacker..To scare me ?

Sameer: Sorry Ravi.. Your efforts got wasted

Nisha: Do you remember our first meeting ?

Sameer: Tell me when and where..I know I had told you about these..So what are you upto Ravi ?

Sameer: Do you want to take it out on me now that I've bagged the promotion so early .. while you couldn't.. in spite of licking the arse of the GM for years ?

Nisha: So you told Ravi everything about us ?

Sameer: I told him how we met..how our parents were opposed to our relationship..the difficulty we faced doing a live-in in the building complex..But certainly not everything
