Mysterious practices by aghori tantriks

Updated: Jul 6, 2020

A place considered dreadful by others is home for Aghoris - The Hindu cremation ground. According to religious beliefs, the cremation ground is considered as the nexus point where the physical and spiritual worlds intersect. The place thus exists as an intermediary state between life and death. Tantric practitioners have, therefore, been flocking these grounds for generations in order to perform their Tantric sadhana (spiritual practice). These dread locked, ash-smeared ascetics have built their hutments on the cremation grounds and have been living the lives of recluses since ages. Besides consuming alcohol in skull bowls, smoking marijuana, using woods from pyre, clothes from dead bodies, and ash of burnt bodies for the various rituals, this sect engages in queer practices unimaginable for the common man. Refer to the preface of my book, 'Being Attracted to a Place' (Horror Series, Book One) where I've mentioned more such grotesque and dreadful practices carried out at Tarapith crematorium.
